All Hallows College
The Archives of All Hallows College date back to the College's founding in 1842. The Archives are made up of records in a number of different formats; textual, visual, and audio-visual, and provide a wealth of information for researchers from a wide variety of disciplines, both academic and non-academic, including Genealogy, History and Sociology.
Much work has been done, and is on going, to improve the accessibility of the College Archives. So far, this has concentrated on the student records, and on the collection of correspondence to and from the Foreign Missions in Britain, the USA and Canada, Australia and New Zealand, India, Mauritius and the West Indies, Argentina and South Africa, and Japan, to which the College sent so many young priests. Both of these collections have been entered onto computer databases for efficient and accurate information retrieval. The early correspondence 1842-1877 has also been microfilmed and is available in many libraries around the world.
The College accepts archival queries by telephone, fax, post, and e-mail
