Delany Archive

The Archive houses the official records of the four Delany Archive Trust Partners, namely, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin; Carlow College; the Brigidine Congregation; and the Patrician Brothers.

Diocese of Kildare and Leighlin
Papers of Bishops, 1726-1967. Includes correspondence and other records such as financial records and sermons; returns relating to schools in connection with an 1824 commission of inquiry into the state of Irish education.

Carlow College
This collection also includes records relating to Carlow Lay College and Knockbeg College, 1793-. Holdings include records relating to alumni and staff; administration and management documentation; financial records; photographs; architectural drawings; College publications; Knockbeg Union for past pupils; and records relating to the College farm.

Brigidine Congregation
General Archives, 1807-. Includes writings of founder, Daniel Delany, Bishop of Kildare and Leighlin (1787-1814); Constitutions; papers arising from General Chapters and Provincial and Regional Chapters; financial records; correspondence; community annals; records relating to members of the congregation including writings; formation and education of members of the congregation. Archive of the Irish/English Province, c. early 19th century-. Includes community annals; records of members of the congregation; records relating to schools and other works; past pupils' unions; property transactions; financial records; photographs; publications and newsletters

Patrician Brothers
Records relating to the origins of the congregation, and to the management of houses in Ireland, 1808-; India, 1875-; Australia, 1883-, United States, 1947-; Papua New Guinea, 1960-; and Kenya, 1963-. Includes annals; records relating to members of the congregation; publications and newsletters; financial records; records relating to schools; Constitutions, General and Provincial Chapters; photographs. Correspondence of Superiors General, c. 1880-.
