Primary Collections: Society of the Sacred Heart, Roscrea (1823-1964)

The papers provide an insight to The RSCJ community and convent at Roscrea from 1823 to 1964. Included are financial and administrative records, school journals and student registers ofthe national school and boarding school. There are records relating to Roscrea during The famine. In addition, there are photographs, property records and documents detailing the closure ofthe school.

Society of the Sacred Heart, Mount Anville (1853-1964)

The papers provide an insight to The RSCJ community and convent at Mount Anville from 1853 to 1964. Included are financial and administrative records, school journals, student registers and records of sodalities. The documents relate to the Montessori, national school, junior school and senior school.
It is a large collection containing photographs, property records and employment records. There are documents relating to important visits including that of Queen Victoria in 1853.

The papers provide an insight to The RSCJ community and convent in Perth. Included are financial and administrative records, school journals, student registers and records of sodalities. There are property documents and records relating to The Grant and Brooke families dating back to 1829.

The papers provide an insight to The RSCJ community and convent at Harcourt Street – Lesson Street from 1875 to 1964. Included are financial and administrative records, school journals, student registers and records of sodalities. There are also photographs, property records and records relating to The night school and the closure ofthe school.

Society of the Sacred Heart, Craiglockhart (1895-1964)

The papers provide an insight to The RSCJ community, convent and teacher training college at Craiglockhart from 1895 to 1964. Included are financial and administrative records, school journals, student registers and records of sodalities relating to the boarding school. There are also texts of plays and copies ofThe school magazine. There are documents relating to World War II and to The establishment ofthe teacher training college which was founded by Mother Margaret Walsh in 1918.

The papers provide an insight to The RSCJ community and convent in Armagh from 1823 to 1964. Included are financial and administrative records, school journals, student registers, records of sodalities and records relating to the town of Armagh. There are also property records, and of note, documents detailing The fire that burnt much ofthe convent on 14 February 1964.
